Who Are We?
Over 125 medical, dental, pharmaceutical, nursing, and administrative volunteers make it possible for Good Samaritan Care Clinic to provide free medical and dental services to the uninsured of South Central Missouri, while ensuring patients receive quality and compassionate care.
Founded in 2003
Good Samaritan Care Clinic of Mountain View began offering medical services to uninsured patients in February 2004. The Clinic’s first facility was a house loaned to them by Mercy St. Francis Hospital of Mountain View. During its first year, the clinic provided assistance in 510 medical visits.
Relocation in 2006
In 2006, the clinic relocated to a larger facility on U.S. highway 60 in Mountain View. A grant awarded to the clinic from the Catherine’s Legacy Fund of Sisters of Mercy of the Americas made it possible for the clinic to remodel the facility into a four exam room medical office with laboratory and dispensary. Additional funding from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks provided the necessary capital to renovate the facility’s attached garage into a two-chair dental office.
New Services in 2007
In 2007, Good Samaritan Care Clinic began offering dental extractions by appointment.
Addition in 2010
In the spring of 2010, a 1,400 square foot addition was completed, partially underwritten by Missouri’s Department of Economic Development Neighborhood Assistance Program and funded by generous contributions from community businesses and professionals.
The clinic assisted patients in 1,781 medical visits and 418 dental visits in 2015 and has assisted patients in more than 20,055 medical visits and 4,092 dental visits in its 12+ year history.
The Clinic is currently funded by several faithful churches & community partners. Through their faithful and generous support, Good Samaritan Care Clinic is equipped to provide medical and dental services to the uninsued and undeserved of South Central Missouri.
Good Samaritan Care Clinic is indebted to its board of directors, advisory council, and approximately 125 active professional and lay volunteers who have donated thousands of volunteer hours since the clinic began.
